Prayer of the day
Prayer for sweetness...
May the wind blow sweetness,
the rivers flow sweetness,
the herbs grow sweetness,
for the People of Truth!
Sweet be the night,
sweet the dawn,
sweet be earth's fragrance,
sweet be our Heaven!
May the tree afford us sweetness,
the sun shine sweetness,
our cows yield sweetness --
milk in plenty!

13 year old has baby
Thirteen year old, Alfie Patten and 15 year old, Chantelle Steadman gave birth to a 7lb 3oz little girl, Masie Roxanne February 12, 2009.
"I thought it would be a good idea to have a baby," Patten says.
The idea of a 13 and 15 year old having a child is mortifying but that's just my opinion. I remember what I knew... or really what I thought I knew and didn't... at that age and there is no way that they would have the maturity or resources that are needed to bring another life into this world. Where are their parents is my question!!

MercyMe closes down NRB at Opryland Hotel
February 9th-
MercyMe has become one of the Christian world's superstar bands. After the Grammy's on February 8th the band flew back with one hour of sleep to perform at the NRB held at Opryland Hotel in Nashville, TN- and give the performance that blew the crowd away. This band is truly inspirational and humble- Bart Millard (lead singer of the group) makes sure to thank God for the chance to praise Him and hopefully make a difference in his lifetime and "likes to think he would have made his dad proud." They perform "I Can Only Imagine" inspired by Millard's dad's early passing, with the same passion it has been performed so many times before.

LOCAL ORGANIZATION FORMED BY INDIVIDUAL MOBILIZING RESOURCES TO REACH OUT 4TH ANNUAL BENEFIT BALL SET FOR JANUARY 31, 2009 NASHVILLE, TN...January 7, 2009...
Last August, Hurricane Gustav devastated all communities in its path including the already hurting nation of Haiti. The destruction from the category three hurricane left Haiti in an extreme famine and residents fighting to survive by destroying animals and crops that won't be replenished until late spring. This was the first of four hurricanes that hit the area in 2008. A local young adult and his organization experienced Hurricane Gustov and were eye witnesses to the devastation that resulted from it. Now they are looking beyond themselves and hosting the Fourth Annual Benefit for Haiti in Nashville, TN on January 31, 2009 to raise funds to restore a nation one community at a time.
The Haiti Benefit will be held at Rocketown beginning at 7:30 p.m. This fundraiser is hosted by The Conduit, an organization started by a few individuals that have been used to mobilize the resources around them to reach out to those in need. The Conduit invites young adults in the area desiring to help the hungry and needy in Haiti by attending the ball for an evening of friends and celebration. Sponsors will provide food and giveaways for the evening. The benefit will include a silent auction as well as a performance by an artist to be announced and Top 40 DJ to dance the night away.
Advance tickets can be purchased at conduit mission for $17 or $20 at the door. Rocketown is located at 401 6th Ave. S in Nashville, TN. About Philip Peters & His Dream: Philip Peters was affected for life at the age of 17 when he visited Jamaica with Teen Mania ministries. He met and befriended a local Haitian who was also a student at the time. Fast forward five years, $60,000 in college debt, and a move from Indiana to Nashville to pursue a career in the music industry making just over $20,000 as Peters decides to keep a promise made to his friend to visit him in his homeland of Haiti.
In December 2005, Peters and five friends traveled back to Jacmel, Haiti. Following the third anniversary of visiting Haiti this December, the group celebrates six trips and more than 50 people visiting the Haitian community to offer hope and necessary aid. This coming spring a building project will be completed to host children in need as well as the local pastor and supplies for the community. In addition a food project was launched in 2008 to feed more than 100 children three times a week and an educational sponsorship program has sent 465 children to school among other needs provided through this long-standing relationship being built all through the desire to make a difference and one young man. Peters and his local church, New River Fellowship, have joined with Restoration Ministries in the Caribbean where The Conduit has become the hands and feet in Haiti. About "The Conduit":
In September 2007, Operation Haiti became a non-profit (501 C3) organization under the name "The Conduit." This is a group of young adults (ages 20-30) whose average income is $23,000 and desire to make a difference in the world around them. In just one year, the group of 15- 30 individuals have already given an astounding $50,000+ to be used not only in Haiti, but a center for the homeless affected by drugs and alcohol in Columbia, TN as well as giving money for the needs in Africa and providing Christmas to family members in need in the local area. For more information on The Conduit, work in Haiti or the Benefit contact Philip Peters at philip@trueartist.org or 615-403-0513. - ### - -
